Description

The Canadian Military Work Jacket by Marka is crafted in Japan from flocked denim, taking the denim jacket issued to the Canadian military in the 1940s and 50s as its design source. A fly front hides the tack buttons, and the two chest pockets also close with concealed buttons, keeping the ruggedness of military workwear while giving the jacket a clean look. The shoulders are kept neat, with generous volume through the body and sleeves. Tabs at each side of the hem cinch to blouse the fabric and change the silhouette, which pairs well with wide trousers. Despite its substantial look, the flocked denim has a soft drape, so the volume sits naturally on the body, with room to layer knitwear underneath without bulk. With wear, the flocking rubs away to reveal the denim beneath, so the jacket changes as it ages.
