Description
Portal's Radius Cap, shown here in Blue Graphite, is a soft shell cap, soft shell being a woven stretch fabric that favours breathability and ease of movement over full waterproofing. Portal designs it as a lightweight cap for all-round active use.According to Portal, the cap is cut from a double weave stretch nylon fabric, a weave that produces two layers of cloth at once, bound together. The composition is 89% recycled nylon, a polyamide made from reclaimed material, and 11% elastane, a synthetic fibre that adds stretch. According to Portal, the fabric is light and breathable, offers light protection from the weather and is optimised for durability and performance across varied conditions. The cap is built on Portal's Radius four-panel construction, which, according to the brand, keeps seams to a minimum. The peak is of medium length and flexible; Portal says it holds its shape. At the back, a cord lock sits on a mount of Hypalon, a synthetic rubber common in outdoor equipment; Portal says this reduces irritation when the cord is cinched.Portal designs the cap for an active fit, with little excess material. It comes in one size and adjusts to a wide range of head sizes. According to the brand, it weighs 40 grams.
