Description
Based on a 1930s US Army CCC Logger Jacket, with the original pattern revised for contemporary fit and construction. The shoulder slope has been increased, the armhole lowered, and the sleeves widened to improve mobility. The yoke and chest pocket positions have been dropped to rebalance the detail layout. The collar has been redesigned for a cleaner, more stable roll. The shell is a high-density tent cloth woven with alternating cotton-silk blended yarns and cotton slub yarns, arranged one by one in both warp and weft. The natural irregularity of the yarns produces an aged, uneven texture. The fabric is oil-coated, combining the character of cotton, silk, and paraffin wax in a single surface. The jacket is cut in a crazy-pattern layout from four slightly different shades of olive tent cloth, each dyed with subtle tonal variation. Beyond the fabric finish, each piece undergoes additional hand processing: a garment wash blends the surface chalk marks and enhances the wax slip feel. Finish and coloration vary from piece to piece. The paraffin coating diminishes gradually with wear and washing. Chalk marks can be reduced with steam-hover pressing. Hardware is original iron tack buttons, which will darken and develop patina with age.
