Description
Baserange's Kem Mini Skirt is a mini skirt in black camel melange, made from a recycled cashmere knit. It has an elastic waistband and a slit at the front. The skirt is knitted from 95% recycled cashmere and 5% wool. Baserange explains that the yarn comes from cashmere waste picked out by hand and graded by quality, colour and fibre type, gathered from spinning and weaving mills and from drop-off points for worn garments. Baserange's recycled cashmere carries GRS and Oeko-Tex certification.According to Baserange, recycled cashmere cuts the methane produced by goat herds and the water pollution caused by washing cashmere, and needs less energy, water and dye than virgin cashmere. The brand adds that the fibres arrive already coloured, so no second dyeing stage is needed.Baserange notes that cashmere naturally resists stains, odours and creases, so it needs washing only occasionally. The brand recommends hand washing in cool water with an enzyme-free, pH-neutral detergent, then drying the skirt flat and storing it folded to keep its shape.
