Description
Baserange's Uro Top is a black top cut from organic cotton poplin. It has a drawstring at the neckline, elastic at the hem and cuffs, and slits at the side seams.Poplin is a plain weave, in which each crosswise thread passes alternately over and under the lengthwise threads. Here the poplin is 100% organic cotton. As Baserange explains, cotton is a natural seed fibre that is durable, breathable, absorbent and soft, and the brand also notes that it is biodegradable and hypoallergenic. Baserange chooses organic cotton to keep harmful chemicals out of production, control water use and protect workers' rights, and says most of it is rain-fed and needs little irrigation. Baserange's organic cotton carries GOTS, Oeko-Tex and OCS 100 certification.Baserange recommends washing the top at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle cycle, since heat and friction wear down the fabric. The brand advises treating stains straight away, as cotton absorbs them more readily than synthetic fabrics, and avoiding bleach, which may discolour the cloth, and fabric softener, which coats the fibres and reduces their absorbency and breathability. It also suggests a light pull to straighten the garment, then hanging it to dry so that creases do not form.
