The cloth is a heavyweight tricotine woven in Kakegawa from very high-twist yarn, which puts a strong diagonal rib across the face while the back stays smooth. No softeners are used, so it arrives dry to the touch and stays that way until wear does the work. Piece-dyed on a machine that kneads the fabric rather than soaking it flat.
