Description
The Blouson is constructed in a 12.5oz denim woven at a mill in Okayama Prefecture using domestic-spun yarn. The weaving process intentionally removes the fixed supports and weights typically used to stabilize vintage shuttle looms. These absent constraints allow for fine, natural vibrations during weaving that introduce depth and irregular texture into the fabric itself. The garments are sewn in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, and finished in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture. The indigo wash is carried out using deep-sea water. The process avoids chemical treatments, keeping yarn damage to a minimum while achieving a used finish. Tailoring techniques are applied throughout the construction. The sleeves are cut with a natural forward pitch, creating a three-dimensional structure that follows the body without force. The collar features a detachable facing drawn from 1950s tailoring: an internal protective cloth, originally conceived to shield the garment from oils and perspiration, here reinterpreted as a structural and removable detail.
