Published in 1964 by Edizioni di Comunità in Milan, this is the first Italian monograph dedicated to Arne Jacobsen. Edizioni di Comunità was the publishing house founded by Adriano Olivetti as part of his Movimento Comunità project, and this volume marked Italy's first formal recognition of the Danish architect's body of work. The book traces Jacobsen across both disciplines he is remembered for: the architecture (the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, St. Catherine's College in Oxford, the National Bank of Denmark) and the furniture, lighting, and product design that grew out of it. The text is by Tobias Faber, the Danish architect and professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, who knew Jacobsen directly and remained one of the most authoritative voices on his practice.
